The BB in the BB cream stands for
Beauty Balm, and the CC in the CC cream
is actually means Color Correcting. Both BB cream and CC cream have an added skincare
benefits in it (Prime, hydrate, protect, etc). In function, BB cream is pretty much the same with CC cream,
but BB cream usually have a better coverage than CC cream. They both can
improve your skin tone but lighter than a foundation.
Now, let's move on to the review. Maxfactor CC cream is a bit different than what a CC cream supposedly do, I feel it gives me a light feeling when I use it, but the coverage
is just like a medium to full coverage foundation. That’s amazing right!? Can you
imagine you don’t have to feel like you’re wearing anything on top of your skin
but it covers everything, your spots, your zits, your blemishes, everything.
You just have to build it up, and Voila! Everything is undercover, and you don’t
have to feel like you’re wearing a mask or anything.
Maxfactor CC cream is like a needle
in the haystack, I don’t expect anything when I buy this CC cream, I’m just
curious to try it because a lot of people rave about it, but because of the
cheap price tag I kind of underestimate it. I thought “oh this is probably good
enough if you compare it to another drugstore CC cream” but turns out that’s
not true. It’s like so hard to believe that something that’s so affordable can
give you an excellent result.
The textures is thinner than a BB
cream, but the coverage is better than
some of the pricey foundation. And another good thing is, it doesn’t break me
out or making me itchy, and I remind you I have quite a sensitive skin.
I apply this CC cream using my Real Technique Face expert brush, I find this brush is the best brush to apply it. I dot the CC cream first into my face, and then with a circular movement I apply it with my RT brush. For the reference of how much I use the CC cream, you can see the pictures below.

After you apply it, you won’t feel
greasy or sticky at all, it’s like you’re already wearing a powder. My skin
type is normal to dry combination skin, and the staying power for me is good,
it stays for 12 hours (Never tried more than that) without blotting, but of
course I put a finishing powder after it. But I guess for oily skin the staying
power is supposedly good too, because it gives you a matte velvety finish, not
like some of foundation or BB cream that gives a dewy finish.
Overall I love it, it doesn’t accentuate
my fine lines, pores or dry patch. You should try it too, this is such a good
find, I call it my “cheap but great makeup”, and I wear it almost everyday. I choose
shade 50 natural and it’s a perfect match for me, for your reference I am NC20
to 25 (For drugstore reference I’m using Nude from Revlon Colorstay or Revlon
Photoready)
